Barbara Thorndike-Gensmer, President and Owner, Rodgers Organ Studio

With over 450 organ installations since 1980, Barbara holds an enviable record of sales achievement with Rodgers Instruments LLC. She is a graduate of Ripon College and holds an M.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin. Barbara has made extensive studies of the musical practices of various denominations.

Dennis Davis, Head Technician

A University of MN graduate with over 18 years of experience servicing and installing pipe and electronic organs, Denny is also an experienced singer, conductor and actor. He has graduated from the Rodgers Organ Technical Academy and is nationally recognized for his outstanding organ installations.

Jerry Boorsma, Organ Consultant and Clinician

A resident of Wisconsin, Jerry has a B.A. in Music Education from Calvin College. He has been involved with his family in a singing musical ministry, and has served as an organist for churches in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Jerry is our valuable resource for our western Wisconsin counties.

Jim Hockin, Sales Associate and Education Specialist

Jim has studied organ since age 10 being coached by his organist father. His background is piano performance at the University of MN. He has performed with the Mpls. Symphony and Lake Harriet Orchestras on piano and has studied organ with Dr. Edward D. Berryman. He has served as a Twin Cities organist for over 35 years at various churches, and originated the "HOT TIPS" e-mail support column for Rodgers Organ Studio clients. He also practices dentistry in Minneapolis.

GUEST ARTIST:

Rodney Barbour, Concert Artist, Educator and Consultant Rodney has degrees in Education and Organ from Marshall U of West Virginia, and a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from the College Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati. He travels internationally as a performer, clinician and consultant for worship and worship accompaniment.  He is currently the Director of Worship and Arts at Crestview Presbyterian Church, West Chester, OH. Rodney's pleasing manner and sense of humor make him a popular choice for workshops and dedications.

Jim Merten, Technical Advisor, New Life Lutheran Church, Shoreview

Jim is an organist at New Life Lutheran Church, Shoreview, MN. He contributes regularly to technical questions about MIDI interfaces between Rodgers organs and other MIDI equipment. His experience at Unisys Corporation has made this web page possible. Jim has also assisted organists in using Hymnsoft, a software program used by the WELS church, and is currently working on a data base for the entire WELS hymnal. He is a co-presenter of workshops sponsored by Rodgers Organ Studio.
